Kalyanam Kamaneeyam is a romantic and pleasing drama of a married couple. Shiva (Santhish Shoban) is an engineering graduate. Despite his talent and skills, he struggles a lot to find a job. Shiva's father often scolds him for not getting a job. Meanwhile, Shiva loves Shruti (Priya Bhavani Shankar), who is a software employee. They get married by convincing their family members. Shruti takes on all the responsibilities of the family expenses, thinking that Shiva will get a decent job soon. Their married life was smooth in the beginning. But later, the situation worsens because of Shiva's inability to secure a job. The couple finds a hard time in their life, and the happiness starts to fade away gradually. On the other hand, Shruti comes across harassment at her workplace in the form of the manager Bhushan (Satyam Rajesh). Shruthi couldn't tolerate Shiva's negligence at home. She becomes angry as he is not putting any effort into getting a job. Shiva was forced to find a job. He couldn't get the job even after several trials. Then Shruthi decides to pay a consultancy 10 lakh rupees to help Shiva get a job. Unfortunately, he loses the money, bringing him more life troubles. He lies to Shruti, thinking he could manage the situation. From then on, problems step into Shiva's life.
