Idi Minnal Kadhal is about Aran, who accidentally hits and kills a man named Hrithesh with his car. Aran feels very bad and wants to tell the police. But his girlfriend, Janani, tells him not to. She is afraid they won't be able to move to another country if he does. A mechanic named Raja helps them hide the accident. Meanwhile, Hrithesh's little son, Abhi, is waiting for his dad to come home. Abhi is alone and finds comfort with his neighbour, Anjali, who has a job that some people don't like. Abhi finds out his dad died in a car accident and the police don't know who did it. Abhi's problems get worse when he learns his dad owed money to Arul Pandian, a bad person who lends money. Now Abhi, a young child, has to deal with this dangerous man by himself. The movie shows how Abhi tries to live and deal with his dad's debts and what Aran did. The narrative talks about guilt, loss, and survival. It highlights the impact of a single accident on many lives. Ciby Bhuvana Chandran plays Haran, Bhavya Trikha plays Janani, and Yasmin Ponnappa plays Anjali.
