Varun Tej plays the role of Ghani. He lives with his mother Madhuri, played by the veteran actress Nadiya. Madhuri takes a promise from his son never to take up boxing as his profession or career for undisclosed reasons. But Ghani has seen his father, Vikramaditya, played by senior Kannada hero Upendra, who is a renowned boxer and brings in a disgrace in his game. That affected him as a child, and he had to live through great pain and insult along with his mother while growing up. Ghani decides firmly to bring back glory to his family by bagging a great name as a world champion in boxing. He sets that as his goal.
