Deepthi returns to her village because her dad died. She doesn't want to talk to her brother, Ramaraju. She goes to her old boyfriend Jayakrishna's house with her friend Padmaja. On the way, they see a couple fighting, which reminds Deepthi of when she and Jayakrishna were together, so she tells Padmaja their story. Jayakrishna was from a low-income family and had darker skin than Deepthi. He loved her in college but was scared to reveal his love. Some older students bullied Jayakrishna, but Deepthi helped him get over it. After that incident, they started seeing each other secretly. Deepthi made him feel confident. Their friends found out about their relationship but didn't tell anyone. Problems started when the college principal was mean to Jayakrishna because of his skin colour. Later, the principal and some mean students created stories about Deepthi and Jayakrishna. This made Deepthi's brother Ramaraju angry. He thrashed Jayakrishna. When Deepthi came back to get her exam ticket. Jayakrishna also accompanied her. But then, Deepthi and Padmaja remember what really happened. Ramaraju hurt Jayakrishna badly, burned his school papers, killed his pet calf, and made him eat it. When Deepthi came back, they decided to kill themselves with poison.
