Mega brother Naga Babu plays the role of a landlord named Ranga Rao and is a well respected man. He has a close bond with his beloved daughter, Mahalakshmi, who is a bright and innocent girl. When Mahalakshmi returns from college, Ranga Rao decides to arrange her marriage with Dhorababu, a shy and gentle boy. Engagement of Mahalakshmi is done with Dorababu. After the engagement, Mahalakshmi reveals to Dorababu, that she is in love with Kishore, a charming and playful young man who doesn’t want to marry her. Feeling torn between honesty and loyalty, Mahalakshmi decides to break off the engagement with Dhorababu. Dhorababu is hurt by this news and confronts Kishore. He learns that Kishore’s feelings are real. Dhorababu comes up with a plan to bring Kishore back to the village.
