Maari is a charismatic gangster known for his playful behaviour. Always with two loyal sidekicks, Sanikkizhamai and Robert. His carefree life is disturbed by Araathu Aanandi, a spirited auto-rickshaw driver who is in love with Marri and tries all the possible ways to impress him. However, he initially ignores her but, in the end, falls for her. The conflict arises when Beeja, a criminal, escapes prison seeking revenge against Maari for killing his brother—a lawyer who attempted to assault Aanandi’s sister. Beeja plans a drug-smuggling plot to frame Maari; he sends Aanandi for a delivery, which turns out to be smuggling and gets caught by Kalai. Kalai confronts her, and she takes Maari's name. Thus, Beeja destroys Aanandi’s trust and sparks a rift between Maari and his friend Kalai. A violent clash occurs, resulting in Aanandi taking a bullet meant for Maari, leaving her paralyzed. Eight years later, Maari is married to Aanandi and has a son, Kaali. Aanandi dies during childbirth due to paralysis complications. Maari raises his son with the help of an old couple and his friends. Kaali inherited Maari’s behaviour and kept picking fights. Once, Maari fights with the local council member to save his son. Meanwhile, Beeja and Kalai become influential underworld figures, with Beeja manipulating political ties to evade justice. Now, Maari plans to take revenge against Beeja.
