Jallikattu is the Telugu-dubbed version of the Malayalam movie of the same name. In a remote Kerala village, a buffalo escapes from butcher Antony (Antony Varghese) before it can be slaughtered for a feast. The incident sparks chaos in the village, where tensions have already begun. Antony and Kuttachan (Sabumon Abdusamad) join together to hunt the beast. More and more men in the village join the chase. In the process, their old grudges and egos show up. Eventually, the hunt for the buffalo becomes wilder and more violent. The women of the village are led by Sophie (Santhy Balachandran). They see the madness of their men and their fake pride. The buffalo is shown as a symbol of raw power; it leads the men deeper into the forest. What happens there is the crux of the story. Differences between Antony and Kuttachan develop, fueled by past betrayals and a love triangle involving Sophie. The village elders, like Varkey (Chemban Vinod Jose), try to bring back order, but the chase turns into a brutal clash of human instincts—greed, anger, and survival. Towards the end of the day, the hunt becomes more chaotic. The story ends with a shocking twist, revealing the actual cost of unchecked rage and the fragile balance of community life.
